Dear Parents and Guardians,
As a father of two creative boys, I have consistently found it frustrating to search the web for creative things my children can print to enjoy. The internet is filled with low grade imagery and graphics that aren't always child friendly. Some of the content websites offer is not at all suitable for children. That is one of the many reasons I have created this website for you and your children to frequent and enjoy, absolutely free.
Also, as a single dad, I spent a lot of time looking for things I could do WITH my children. My father, when I was young, would bring home big pieces of cardboard and we would draw and create things for hours - those hours left me with memories I still talk about today. The creative aspect of what we did together has led me to be the creative person I am today, and are also hours that are considered time well spent; making the most out of the time we had to spend together.
For teachers and day-care facilitators, having one place that is easy to navigate and trustworthy in delivering easy to print materials for use with young developing minds is invaluable. I hope what i have presented here will be of use in expanding the creativity in which you instruct and teach the children in your care.
The goal of this website is to offer printable resources for developing creative skills and enjoyment for kids of all ages. My aim is to provide this while offering these benefits.
- No Linking To Non-Child-Safe Websites. It is important to know that when a child is on the Color, Cut and Create website, there are no links taking them to websites deemed non-safe. The only available links in this website are links that open a printable PDF file or websites that have been reviewed and considered safe for children. The exception is the Google Embedded Advertisements, they are being reviewed and if found unsafe, will be removed. The PDF's, once opened, can be printed as any or all of the pages within the file, absolutely free of charge. The separate window is easily closed with the "close" button in the browser and the screen remains on Color, Cut and Create.
- Child safe graphics and printables. As I create the printable PDF files, I review each photo and graphic that I use in the pages. If the page offers a website name, a printed link or printing that doesn't seem child appropriate, I remove it from the page. The excpetion may be, when printing a Disney file - I will not delete the word Disney from the graphic I use, as that may be breaching an intellectual property issue. Words such as "Hottie" printed on a figure's shirt will be removed before it's made available for print. Graphics depicting violence and sexuality will never be included. This is done by my best judgement. If you see a file you consider inappropriate, please email me directly at < joedolan@gmail.com >. I will look into it and make a decision on including it in the pages of this website or not.
As I further develop this website, there are plans to include a Color,Cut and Create web-store with original books that I self publish featuring original content as well as a store that may include the sale of items I find discounted at local retailers. These items may be subject to a once only sale. It has not yet been considered how that store wil operate, but be assured, it will be made child safe.
- The website is run by way of monetary donations from web users and parents around the world. Parents donate a few occasional dollars from time to time and the effect is a well run website that needs no sign-ups or member fees to stay afloat. Donations can be made by clicking here.
Please enjoy what I have made here and spend as much quality time as you can with those children in your care. Their creative futures share a dependency on time spent with their parents and loved ones. Please encourage them to use that time creatively and introduce them to new and wonderful worlds to explore.
